Help us continue our education, awareness and protection work
At the moment we:
- Personally answer thousands of enquiries from concerned children, parents and community through our Chatdanger.com website. We work directly with and for children daily in this way offering help and advice to prevent abuse.
- Operate awareness raising activities in schools through our “Kidsmart” project which includes activity days in schools throughout the UK.
- Over one million of our leaflets have been distributed in the UK alone and are available in English, Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi as well as the content being used widely in other countries.
- Produce dedicated information for parents on child safety issues with the Internet and new technologies.
- Advise governments, Internet service providers, mobile network operators, software manufacturers and decision makers about child safety issues on the Internet. We are also a member of the UK Home Office Task Force on Child Protection on the Internet.
“The web is more a social creation than a technical one. I designed it for social effect - to help people work together - and not as a technical toy. We have to ensure that the society we build with the web is the sort we intend.”
Tim Berners-Lee (credited for inventing the world wide web) talks about in his book “Weaving the Web"
Increasingly people and organisations throughout the world are happy to call themselves Childnet Friends.
As a charity Childnet relies totally on the generosity of those who believe in what we are seeking to do. We are grateful to all those who encourage, work with us and give us financial support.

Childnet would like to express our sincere thanks to the following companies, grant making trusts, Government departments and organisations which have supported Childnet over the last year either through grants, donations, in-kind support or paid services.
