Following the Combating Child Pornography on the Internet Conference in Vienna (Sept 29- 1 Oct 99 ), a renewed commitment to zero tolerance to child pornography on the Internet was made by the Internet Industry, Governments, law enforcement agencies, hotlines and child welfare groups.

A large number of practical initiatives were identified.

Childnet played a key role in the organisation of the conference alongside the Austrian and US Governments and the EU. As an independent organisation we intend to monitor closely the implementation of the initiatives agreed in Vienna.

At the conference the INHOPE Association was formally launched which Childnet has serviced.
