The Award comes as part of the Broadband Britain Challenge, and recognises Net-Detectives as a leading ICT project in the UK. David Casey Project Manager said, “This Award recognises Net-Detectives’ innovative and unique use of technology in communication and the commitment and enthusiasm of all those who have been involved.” Net-Detectives is a project managed by Childnet International as part of the commitment to make the Internet a great and safe place for young people. Diane Earl of E2BN the Eastern Region Broadband Consortium and major sponsor of the Net-Detectives project said, “E2BN is really pleased to be able to support such an innovative and exciting project and we look forward to building on the partnership we have developed with Childnet”. Net-Detectives gives children and young people the opportunity to learn about their communities by working in and exciting on-line collaboration in problem solving with experts from a variety of professions. It is an activity that uses familiar technologies to enable pupils to work in partnerships to learn about, and work towards creating safer communities.
