KIA for SchoolsKnow IT All for Schools

Know IT All for Schools was the first resource in the family of Know IT All products to be developed. It is an interactive CD-ROM to help pupils (KS3/4) understand a broad range of issues when using the internet or mobile phone. This resource was developed by Childnet for teachers to use in the classroom, but sections from the CD could also be used in a whole school assembly or as self study for pupils. The resource was produced with generous funding and support from MSN UK, and was distributed to all secondary schools in the UK in November 2005 with support from Microsoft.

This version of Know IT All has a Teachers’ Guide which can be downloaded from the Teachers' Guide page.

Whilst there are still limited copies of the earlier Know IT All for Schools CD-ROM, Childnet is encouraging anyone who wants Know IT All to order the new updated Know IT All for Parents CD-ROM which includes many of the earlier modules from the schools pack plus new content for children and young people (link to Rob’s intro page) written and presented by young people themselves.

Each of the sections presented by young people links to a special activity centre where YP can test their knowledge using interactive games and quizzes. Examples of these activity centers include:

Your Call
Prank or Pain

There is also valuable advice for teachers on how to use Know IT ALL with pupils and parents and advice on where the subject of e-safety fits into the curriculum.  The new CD-ROM also includes links to further education resources. The earlier Know IT All for schools Teachers’ Guide is available to download here.
