Finding things out

This section is all about Finding Things Out and how you can avoid coming across unwanted content online.

To get started select the Advice button below. If you want to find out about technical tools select the Tools button. If you want to know where to go to report a problem select the Report button. Just to remind you there’s always the Glossary to help you if you get stuck on any of the words or terms.

Finally, you can test your knowledge and check how to tell if information on a website is accurate or trustworthy in the Activity Centre.

Do smart searches: Use the filter option in your search engine. (On Google, you can do this by clicking on ‘preferences’ )

Check to see if a site is valid: For a checklist to see if a website is a valid source of information see: www.quick.org.uk

Report illegal content: To report Illegal content that you come across on a website or a mobile phone visit the Internet Watch Foundation website: www.iwf.org.uk
