The good news is that there are many positive ways to cover the topic of e-safety and 'Know IT All' will be of practical help to you and your school.
Of course many of us find it challenging because we don’t use the applications that students use everyday, such as Instant Messenger, social networking sites or downloading music.
Whilst most schools restrict access to these services, they are so much a part of children’s lives. As one young person told us “if you took away my mobile phone you would take away a part of me!”
As a teacher you may already have ideas on how to integrate e-safety into your teaching, so I hope you’ll find this section useful. For example how could you use the SMART safety tips in a primary school assembly? What will capture the attention of secondary school students or their parents? And finally, where does this topic relate to the Curriculum and what further resources are there for teachers on this issue?
