To open your browser first you need to find it. Sometimes a computer will already have an icon for the browser on the desktop of your computer, (the desktop is what you see when you turn on your computer) so all you need to do is double click on it (that’s clicking twice with the left hand side mouse button).
If you have a PC running Windows Vista, another way to find the browser is by clicking on the ‘Windows’ button in the bottom left hand corner of your computer and click on the Internet Explorer symbol or icon.
At the top of the browser there is a space where you can write the address of the webpage that you want to look at. Use the mouse to move the cursor to the address bar and then click on it with the left mouse button. Double clicking on an address in the bar will select it. Use the keyboard to write in the address that you want. Websites addresses usually begin with the letters www.
Then click on the arrow key at the end of the address bar or press the ‘Enter’ key on your keyboard. The website will appear in the browser. If you want to go back to the last page that you were looking at then click on the back button on the tool bar at the top of your browser.
