Saving a good webpage

If you want to remember or bookmark your favourite websites, rather than always typing the address into the browser, you can ask the browser to save the address as a ‘Bookmark’ or ‘Favourite’. To do this in Internet Explorer firstly type in the address of your website into the address box. Then click the arrow at the end of the address bar or press the ‘enter’ key on your keyboard. When your website is displaying in the browser, go to the top of the browser where you will see 2 star symbols.

Left click on the star symbol with an adjacent plus symbol. This will display a drop down menu with some options on it. Click on the option ‘Add to favourites’. This will display a box prompting you to enter the name of the site that you are saving. Edit this information to help make it easier to find later. When you are ready click the ‘Add’ button.

To see a list of all your favourite web pages, click on the star symbol and then click on the favourites button. You can click on any of your favourite web pages in this list to go straight to the web page, without typing in the address. You might want to save web pages that you think are suitable for your children, and show them how to use the favourites menu.
